I’m a series fanatic! So now you know my deep dark secret.
I actually prefer watching series than movies. Not that I don’t love movies but my real addiction is series.
I’ve followed Supernatural from season 1. Cried when Prison Break ended with Scofield dying, and danced a tango when I heard they are bringing him back (please, don’t mess it up) I was disappointed with how Good Wife ended; heartbroken to say goodbye to Jack Bauer etcetera etcetera. And of course we cannot forget the king of them all – GOT! If you ask me what that means, you need to repent right now and ask Jesus to save you. He’s the only one who can help if you don’t know GOT.
’nuff said about that, let’s move on.
One of my current favorite series is Madam Secretary. If you are not following this particular series, you are missing. Season 2 just ended so you need to go find Seasons 1 & 2, and catch up before Season 3 returns. You’re welcome!
Season 2 ended on a stunner, but far be it from me to be a spoiler. What I will instead share is this speech given at the end by Matt Mahoney, Elizabeth McCord’s speech writer. The words resonated deep inside me and I just had to share
In this world of relentless self promotion, We’ve all been raised to think that the limelight is the only light worth seeking. That isn’t the case. And if I can impart one thing today, a small simple truth to carry with you as you walk through those gates, its this – achievement is often anonymous. Some of the greatest things have been done by people you have never heard of, quietly dedicating their lives to improving your own
I don’t think I need to add any thing more, do I?
I’m going to keep this in mind throughout this June. But even more, I will use it to remind myself to honor the everyday heroes and sheroes working hard so selflessly in the background, in their different ways in different fields to make this world a better place and make our lives easier.
Thank you, whoever you, wherever you are. I might not know you but I feel your impact in my life and all around me. And I appreciate you. Thank you.
Do have a great month, everyone!
